I’ve finished and it’s out to my proofreaders and beta readers! It feels like quite a milestone already. I’ll know more once I get some candid feedback, but I’m excited. In addition to the book, I’ve already created teaching, and club packages at middle school, high school, and adult reading club levels. For school I’ve also created a key with California’s Core Curriculum alignments to make it easy for any teachers that, down the road, may want to use this as a classroom text. I guess that’s the teacher talking in me… but if I am to be a writer, then I think that my experience in education may prove invaluable to make the text more accessible to reluctant readers and non-science fiction readers as well. It’ll certainly make the life of a teacher easier with many of the core elements ready for them to utilize in lesson plans (by way of the supplements I’ll have available).
